Australian Electoral Commission

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is a public body responsible for providing Australians with an independent electoral service which includes managing federal elections and referendums, maintaining the Commonwealth electoral roll, and providing a range of electoral information. Established in 1984, AEC aims to uphold and continuously improve the integrity, accessibility and transparency of the Australian electoral system. Its head office is located in Canberra, with state offices in each state and territory capital city and a network of divisional offices across Australia.
